Once, for my birthday, a group of my dearest friends gave me a bracelet on which two words are inscribed: Hakuna Matata. In Swahili it literally means “there’s not here, worries” - usually just put as no worries. It’s a good mantra to keep in life. I try to follow it as much as I can.
Otherwise, I’m a trilingual girl from Reykjavík, with family ties to the Icelandic West-Fjords on one side and to Egypt on the other. I normally live in Reykjavík, but the world is my oyster - so a lot of these writings are from abroad. The year 2019 I spent in Paris, (to work and) to get to know the city and myself better. Now I’m back in Iceland, in my home, where I live and work.
My goals are as always to live in harmony with others and myself.
The logo of my website is an Egyptian lotusflower. Ancient Egyptians considered the lotus flower a symbol of beauty and rebirth. I believe we’re all being reborn constantly, in ourselves, as we grow and gain knowledge. Which, as well, is beautiful.
